The Splendia team had a fantastic few days in London at The Luxury Travel Fair, taking the time to meet with our customers and to “spread the word” to those who had yet to discover our selection of hotels.
We also gave everyone we spoke to the chance to enter our rather tempting prize draw to win a luxurious weekend for two in Paris, including flights courtesy of Air France, three nights in the sumptuous Murano Urban Resort, a personal shopper and shopping vouchers in Printemps and much more…
Kirsty Loftus from Royal Tunbridge Wells was the lucky winner. We managed to catch up with her just after her trip. Here’s what she had to say…
So Kirsty, how did you feel when you found out that you had won this fabulous weekend?
Really excited, such a fantastic prize…
You’ve just come back from your trip to Paris, how was it? Was it the first time you had been there?
The trip was lovely, perfect weather and a great way to celebrate my 40th! I had been to Paris before, a few times but always in budget hotels and bad weather!
What did you think of the Murano Urban Resort? Was there anything that made your stay there special?
The Murano was very chic, very “parisien”, the rooms were very stylish.. and what a luxurious bath! I think that we felt we were staying in an exclusive club. The location was also perfect, easy walking to most of the sites.. (via several bars of course!) and it is really close to the Picasso Museum - the best collection of his work I have seen.. a must see.
We know from experience that it is possible to go crazy when shopping in Paris! How did you enjoy shopping in Paris? Are there any shops in particular that you would recommend to Splendia customers?
Yes, the shops are very tempting.. we had a very successful shopping day ( all day! – my boyfriend is very patient) in Printemps, their women’s fashions floors put some London department stores to shame.
Paris is also the city of fine cuisine – did you try any restaurants that you would recommend?
We did have a lovely lunch in the stunning Printemps Brasserie, fantastic food and great service. Apart from that we ate in some of the local bars to Murano, which were great places to people-watch as the Marais district is quite bohemian.
I know that it was your birthday weekend. Did you do anything special for your birthday?
I had a perfect day… all day shopping in Printemps – with a fab lunch and then a walk down the Champs-Elysées… Stopping along the way to top up on champagne.. well it was rude not to! I felt very privileged.
Is there is anything that you would like to say to the people that you met on your trip?
Just a big thanks to all at the Murano – I have never won anything like this before. I would especially like to thanks the Manager of the Printemps Brasserie, he insisted on serving us himself and made me drink champagne!
And anything you would like to say to the Splendia team? Any ideas about how we could improve our service or our website are more than welcome!
I really like the new website – easy to navigate and understand. All in all I would definitely recommend Splendia.
