Describe Miami in three words?

Vibrant. Diverse. Enticing.

What do you like best about living in Miami?

By far, my favourite thing about this city is the diversity and the passion by which people live their lives here. An Enchanting Swedish Tradition

Sweden will come together to celebrate St Lucia’s Day on the 13th December, known as Luciadagen in Swedish, one of the country’s most important and enchanting traditions.

What is it?

Although most typically associated with Sweden, the festival is also observed in other Scandinavian countries, as well as the Baltics, Italy and Malta. In the midst of the deep, Nordic winter, St Lucia symbolises the light and warmth that is so keenly anticipated by Swedes awaiting the return of longer days. Luciadagen is an integral part of Swedish Christmas festivities; it is around this time that Swedes put up their Christmas decorations; candles can be seen sparkling from nearly every window in the country, gracing the country with the sort of spellbinding festive magic that can only be experienced in Scandinavia. Due to bad weather, the event was rescheduled for 8th December, but when a storm struck the city on the morning of the 8th, the master of ceremonies ordered for the festival to be cancelled. The rain stopped that evening and, as the skies miraculously cleared, the local people who had been eagerly awaiting the event lit candles in their windows and came out onto the street to celebrate. They also lit flares to illuminate the new statue of Mary and the Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Fouvière – and so the Festival of Lights was born!
