High in the Sky

One way to truly see the sights of a city is from high up in the sky. With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of the best places from which to take in spectacular views of 10 of our favourites.

Barcelona
The Christopher Columbus monument standsChristopher Columbus High in the Sky tall at the bottom of the city’s bustling Las Ramblas, not far from the sea, inviting visitors to ascend to the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the Catalan capital and Cataluña’s coastline. Or, head up one of the towers of the renowned Sagrada Família or to the rooftop terrace of Casa Milà.

Berlin
On a trip to the German capital, be sure to rise to the top of the Fernsehturm, the city’s TV Tower. Have a drink or snack in the revolving restaurant whilst enjoying a 360º vista of Berlin’s magnificent monuments.

Lisbon
Step into the Santa Justa Lift, a Neo-Gothic iron construction that was recognised as a National Monument in 2002, and rise up high to enjoy panoramic views of the Portuguese capital.

London

Madrid

Milan
The renowned Duomo cathedral invites you to head to the top – see the building’s incredible architecture close up whilst also enjoying the spectacular city views.

Rising high up the Empire State Building offers visitors Big Apple views, but heading up to the Top of the Rock – the rooftop viewing spot of the Rockefeller Center – means you can enjoy views of the Empire State Building as well! In a similar fashion, head up the Eiffel Tower to see the City of Lights, or alternatively, ascend to the top of the Arc de Triomphe to see Eiffel’s emblematic tower in all its glory.

Seville
The southern Spanish city’s cathedral offers a fantastic viewing spot – ascend up La Giralda, the building’s bell tower, to marvel at the eclectic architecture that encircles you.
